Loving this Author…

Finding a book that I can just curl up with and totally escape with isn’t always an easy task. Neither is finding new authors that I enjoy, but I have been lucky enough to discover Carrie Walker! This was my first time reading Carrie Walker’s work, and I absolutely loved her writing style! Totally authentic and completely sincere.
The story itself wasn’t rushed, and the characters developed beautifully, allowing me to completely become absorbed in their journey.
Why choose this book?
It was wonderful to read about the steps the main character took when faced with standing on the edge of a major lifestyle change — stepping away from the noise of everyday life and finding herself in the remote and breathtaking setting of Norway.
The setting blew me away, truly. It is like a character in its own right. Set in the vast northern landscapes of Norway, enjoying the stillness, the snow, and the glow of the Northern Lights was simply perfect and reflected the main character’s emotional journey.
Written with such passion and sense of place — which is something I am always drawn to. It made me want to hop on a plane and find Firefly Forest myself. I’m sure the meditation and beautiful scenery would do wonders for my mental health.
Just as the Cornish coastline never fails to inspire my writing for The Towans Series, Carrie Walker captures the same essence with her story. As a writer, the sense of place is something I am always drawn to and something I really love to explore and develop in my own work.
The landscape, the slowing down for the character, the listening inwardly, and allowing clarity to emerge when you immerse yourself into a place really resonated.
If you’re looking for a winter read that makes you feel restored, hopeful, and grounded about what is truly important in life, then I wholeheartedly recommend you read this wonderful book.
