Why I Wrote Summer’s Story: A Note from Bren Moore

Welcome to my corner of the internet — a space dedicated to stories, creativity, and connection for neurodivergent children and the families who love them. I’m Bren Moore: a teacher, school leader, tutor, and now author. After more than 27 years supporting children and families — in classrooms, corridors, quiet corners, and chaotic ones too — I felt called to write a book that truly speaks to the children who have taught me the most.

💛 This book is for them.

For the children who doodle their thinking.
Who forget the rules but remember everything that matters.
Who feel the world just a bit louder, brighter, and faster.

Summer’s Story is a tribute to the courage, creativity, and complexity of neurodivergent learners everywhere. It’s about finding your voice. Claiming your space. And being seen — exactly as you are.

🌱 Why this matters
Every child deserves to feel understood, supported, and valued. I’ve been privileged to witness the incredible honesty, brilliance, and bravery of neurodivergent children throughout my career. They have taught me new ways of seeing the world — ways that are playful, perceptive, and profoundly important.

Through Summer’s Story, I hope to offer one more way for children (and the grown-ups who care for them) to feel seen and celebrated.

🙏 Thank you
To every child I’ve had the privilege to learn beside — thank you for your trust and your light.
To the families who partner with educators — thank you for sharing your insights, your hopes, and your journeys.
To the colleagues who advocate for neurodivergent learners — thank you for making space where it’s needed most.

📚 Let’s keep the conversation going
I invite you to explore this site for updates, reflections, and resources that support neurodivergent readers. If Summer’s Story resonates with you or your child, I’d love to hear about it. Together, we can continue to build a world where every child feels enough — always.
